The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, one of our partner organizations and a group that does great work correcting the record on communism, has two events coming up in the next few weeks that are definitely worth checking out. Both are in Washington, DC, so if you’re in the area, consider attending!

First, this Sunday, they’ll be holding a vigil for the victims of the Fidel Castro regime after his death on November 25th. You can find out more and RSVP to the Facebook event here. Here’s the full event description:

“The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation invites you to join us in commemorating the thousands of victims who suffered and died at the hands of the Castro regime in Cuba. A candlelight vigil will take place on December 4th, 2016 at 4:30 PM at the Victims of Communism Memorial on the corner of New Jersey and Massachusetts Avenues in Washington, DC.

We ask that you join us in standing with the Cuban people, remembering their past suffering, and hoping that this event marks the beginning of a truly democratic future for the island.”

Then, next week, you can attend the US premiere of “The Bleeding Edge” — a new film about censorship and organ farming in China at the E Street Cinema. The event will feature a screening of the film as well as a Q&A with Director Leon Lee and Miss World Canada Anastasia Lin. The screening takes place on Wednesday, December 14th at 6:30 pm and you can find more information on the Facebook event page.

VOC recommends that you reserve your ticket here in advance as tickets are expected to sell out due to extremely limited seating.
