OCTOBER 2017 UPDATE

October was a great month for Students For Liberty in North America! This month we had the opportunity to host 5 great regional conferences and make multiple exciting announcements about LibertyCon!

Regional Conferences

During the month of October we kicked off our Regional Conference Season in North America! Our Regional Conferences (RCs) are a series of unique events completely planned and executed by our student leaders. They provide great opportunities for attendees to hear from well-respected speakers in a variety of fields, network with liberty-minded students, and ultimately learn how to make their campus and the world a freer place.

During the month of October we held 5 Regional Conferences. These included:

  • The North Central Regional Conference on October 7th in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The #SFLunmasks Conference explored the recent rise in political extremism in American politics and featured great speakers such as Tom Palmer and Jeffrey Tucker!
  • The Great Plains Regional Conference on October 14th in Columbia, Missouri. The #OpenHeartsOpenMarkets Conference explored humane free markets and featured fascinating speakers including Austin Petersen and Dr. Jim Lark!
  • The Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference on October 21st in College Park, Maryland. Held at the University of Maryland, the #ExpressYourself Conference tackled the hot topic of free expression and featured speakers including Matt Kibbe, David Boaz, and Deidre McCloskey!
  • The Southeast Regional Conference was held in Tallahassee, Florida on October 28th! Here, attendees gathered at Florida State University to try to answer the question of what society would be like if we no longer needed government. The #FreedomForward Conference featured speakers including William Nava of Praxis and Justin Pearson of the Institute for Justice Florida.
  • The Southwest Regional Conference held on October 28th looked at markets, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Attendees gathered at the #SFLutah Conference at the University of Utah to hear a wonderful speaker lineup including Jennifer Grossman of the Atlas Society and TK Coleman of Praxis.

If your haven’t had a chance to catch your local Students For Liberty Regional Conference it’s not too late! We still have events planned throughout the month of November! Make sure to find the event closest to you and register today!
