DECEMBER 2017 UPDATE

This December, we were wrapping things up in preparation for the New Year. We have some big news ahead for January, including a special LibertyCon announcement. Here’s to a happy New Year!

LibertyCon

Our annual conference is fast-approaching. We’re still working to make sure this is our best conference yet and in December we announced something sure to be a highlight: an immigration debate featuring Alex Nowrasteh of the Cato Institute going head-to-head with Philip Haney, a founding member of the Department of Homeland Security.

In addition, Students For Liberty CEO, Dr. Wolf von Laer, recorded an update on LibertyCon which can be viewed here.

If you haven’t registered yet, it’s not too late! Time is running out as the conference takes place in March. You can register here and be a part of an event that will bring together pro-liberty advocates from around the world. We can’t wait to see you there!

Truth & Toleration

This month Students For Liberty partnered with The Atlas Society to produce a two-part webinar series called “Truth & Toleration”. Part 1: An Introduction to Objectivism features David Kelley, the founder and Chief Intellectual Officer of The Atlas Society, explaining the history of objectivism and answering questions provided by Elizabeth Hayes, SFL’s North American Leadership Manager. Part 2 focuses on objectivism and current affairs. This 45 minute live-stream webinar featured Elizabeth Hayes interviewing David Kelley on objectivism on college campuses, as well as objectivism’s role in current affairs.

SFL in the Media

Throughout the month of December SFL staff and leaders were featured in various national publications advocating for liberty. To highlight a few: Communications Associate, Michael Hall, and Media Relations Associate,  Matthew Boyer, were featured in The Hill. North American Executive Board member, Savannah Lindquist, and Senior Development Officer,  Yaël Ossowski, were published in The Washington Examiner. Events Associate, Nate Baker, and North American Leadership Manager, Elizabeth Hayes were featured on FEE.org. Finally, North American Executive Board Member, Garett Roush, was featured in Rare Politics.
