European Events Associate

European Students For Liberty is currently seeking a passionate and professional individual to serve as European Events Associate. The Events Associate will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of student conferences in Europe, ensuring that all logistics and coordination are handled efficiently, and costs remain in budget. The Events Associate will be planning and executing ESFL’s annual conference – LibertyCon under the supervision of  the Director of International Events, who the Events Associate will report to. Events Associate will also work closely with staff from other SFL regions. The position is remote and requires occasional travel. A successful candidate should have a firm commitment to libertarian ideas and to SFL’s mission statement.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and execution of student conferences
  • Planning and execution of LibertyCon
  • Ensuring the quality and professionalism of all our events
  • Evaluate student conference proposals and reporting process
  • Train and consult student leadership in effective planning and execution of campus events, conferences, retreats, and trainings
  • Plan and execute Leadership retreats
  • Ensure that all logistics and coordination are handled efficiently, and costs remain in budget.
  • Facilitate data collection and processing
  • Creation of the SFL Events Handbook for all regions
  • Creation of the SFL Events Training for European leadership
  • Uphold SFL’s values, culture and brand

 

Qualities of an Ideal Candidate

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in English

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Willingness to learn and provide assistance as necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a team
  • Ability to self-motivate, work autonomously, and show entrepreneurial drive in a remote work environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage shifting priorities
  • Willingness to travel
  • High proficiency with Google Office Suite and/or Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of the effective use of Social Media platforms and online communication tools

 

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous experience in events management
  • Previous involvement with Students For Liberty
  • Previous experience with events tools/platforms
