SFL DEVELOPS

Students For Liberty aims to develop the leadership skills of those who support liberty.

To effect change, it’s not enough for someone to intellectually agree with the principles of liberty: they must be capable of taking action to bring it about. This is why SFL is providing training and support to develop the leadership skills of our volunteers. The goal is to help them be more effective organizers, managers, writers, speakers, and overall better leaders today and tomorrow. This involves teaching fundamental skills that all successful leaders should know, as well as facilitating personal growth and specialization in areas where our students can provide the most value for liberty.

Favourite Figure: Ayn Rand

On Liberty: For Bhanvi - "Liberty has always meant a way of life, and personally, it's the only way of life that I have known while growing up. In my family, every important decision was taken with a consensus of all four members, and I always had the freedom to do anything and everything I wanted. However, I also believe that this way of life is something that each of us as humans are naturally entitled to; which basically means that if I am free to do things I want to do, I feel that everyone else should be too. The only catch being we shouldn't be hurting anybody else or taking away their freedom to do things.''

On SFL: "Through students for liberty, I received the much needed exposure to formulated ideas of libertarianism. I finally found ideas that I could relate with, especially the personal freedoms that libertarianism believes everybody should have. Moreover, due to my association with this organisation - I have only learned and grown - both professionally and personally."

On Students For Liberty: Joining SFL was one of the best decisions I’ve taken, I learned so many things I wasn’t able to during my university years, due to biases in education and the leaning to socialism in my country.
