SFL EMPOWERS

Students For Liberty empowers students and alumni to make the world a freer place.

For anyone supportive of the principles of liberty, we want to provide the resources, network, training, infrastructure, and any other kind of support we can, to help them become more active and more successful in advancing the cause of liberty. This defines SFL and drives our programs so that we will ultimately bring about change which favors freedom.

With the education and development gained from SFL’s core training, our leaders are empowered to start and launch their own projects and initiatives.

This allows SFL to realize it the theory of social change, placing talented leaders of liberty in every domain, field, and occupation so they may create a freer future.

Whether launching new advocacy organizations, large-scale activism campaigns, media careers, or small businesses, we offer student leaders the tools and environment to connect their current passions for liberty to their future careers.

Long after students leave our leadership programs, the connections they’ve made, skills they’ve learned, and ideas they’ve internalized empower them to be entrepreneurial advocates for the ideas we believe in. A centerpiece of our empowerment strategy is the Alumni For Liberty (AFL) program, which keeps libertarian young professionals connected and provides them with training and support once they have graduated.

Our alumni include a professor who is educating the American public about free market economics, an ex-Marxist Venezuelan who is now a Senior Fellow at a classical liberal think-tank, a former Senior Campus Coordinator who has started his own think-tank in Canada, and countless other innovators all around the world. Many have gone on to start new projects, such as Norman Horn, who founded the Libertarian Christian Institute with help from SFL and Casey Given, whose Young Voices project got its start as a SFL program.
