European Development Associate

As our European Development Associate, you will be responsible for leading the fundraising efforts in Europe for Students For Liberty (SFL). You will be in charge of implementing the development strategy, meeting with European donors, prospecting new leads, and helping secure sponsorships for events. You will guide, advise, focus, and train student volunteers towards SFL’s fundraising goal for the year from individuals, foundations, and corporations, and build the fundraising plan for Europe in future years. The European Development Associate is critical to achieving SFL’s mission and reports directly to the Director of International Programs.

This position is remote, but we are primarily looking for someone within Europe. A successful candidate will have a firm commitment to libertarian ideas and to SFL’s mission statement.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and communicate the long-term goals of the organization.
  • Create European fundraising plans to fulfill the mission and goals of ESFL.
  • Oversee lead generation, cultivation, and solicitation of donors, foundations, and partners.
  • Ensure donor and partner follow up and satisfaction.
  • Maintaining the accuracy of data within our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System, Salesforce. 
  • Secure sponsorships for large events, especially LibertyCon Europe.
  • Train and offer feedback to student leaders on fundraising.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Students For Liberty and the ideas of liberty.
  • Excellent written and communication skills, including full proficiency in English.
  • Dedication to providing great service to our donors and partners.
  • Motivated to work autonomously with an entrepreneurial drive in a remote environment.
  • Strong sense of empathy and great listening skills.
  • Meticulous record-keeping.
  • Creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to maintain discretion.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Fundraising/sales experience.
  • Proficiency in G-Suite.
  • Salesforce experience.
  • Experience with remote work.
  • Experience with nonprofit fundraising.
