European Programs Director

Students For Liberty is currently seeking a passionate and professional individual to serve as European Programs Director. This is a full-time position managing SFL staff and volunteers in the region and executing the strategic plan for European Students For Liberty. This role requires personnel or volunteer management experience, program management experience, and expert ability to keep a team engaged, motivated, and results focused while cultivating the organization’s community spirit.

The European Programs Director will be responsible for planning and consistent progress toward the region’s goals, managing ESFL’s staff, partner relationship and network building, working with other staff across SFL to support projects and programs, and all aspects of European operations. This person ideally has good public speaking, networking, and management skills, and is excited to travel extensively to meet, engage with, and grow our network of students, partners and supporters.

A successful candidate will have a firm commitment to libertarian ideas and to SFL’s mission statement.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Management of European SFL staff and volunteers, including the Coordinator Program and Advanced Leadership Team
  • Ensure successful progress toward goals laid out in the European Programs Strategic Plan
  • Ensure goals are achieved within budget
  • Creation of future yearly European Programs strategic plans & budgets
  • Collect and report data on programs and budget
  • Train student leaders
  • Identify high-quality students and success stories
  • Oversee growth of the organization across Europe
  • Build, maintain and leverage relationships with related organizations in the region
  • Serve as a representative of the organization at public events
  • Ensure effective marketing and communications
  • Ensure high quality event execution, including conferences, retreats, academic colloquia, leadership fora, and campus & local events
  • Oversee the European student grant applications process
  • Uphold SFL’s values, culture and brand

 

Qualifications of an Ideal Candidate:

The following qualifications are required:

  • Familiarity with the network of pro-liberty groups and individuals in Europe
  • Volunteer management and/or supervising experience
  • Program management experience
  • Ability to balance many different programs while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including full proficiency in English
  • Creative approach to problem solving
  • Integrity, humility, and an entrepreneurial attitude
  • Positive, goal-oriented outlook
  • Willingness to learn and provide assistance as necessary
  • High proficiency with Google Office Suite (preferred) and/or Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to show discretion
  • Ability to self-motivate, work autonomously, and show entrepreneurial drive in a remote work environment
  • Willingness to travel frequently

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • European residency and primary place of living
  • Knowledge of the effective use of Social Media platforms and online communication tools
  • Previous involvement with Students For Liberty
