SEPTEMBER 2017 UPDATE

Ken Schoolland, Associate Professor of Economics at the Hawaiian University

South Asia hosted it’s second weekly Virtual Reading Group from September 3 to September 24, 2017. The VRG was moderated by Ken Schoolland, who is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Hawaiian University and is well known for his book Jonathan Gullible. South Asia received 45 applications from 5 different countries across the world, out of which 15 were finally selected for the reading group.

Ken’s book ‘Jonathan Gullible’ simplifies the narrative and explains simple economic concepts in a story-like manner; the same was discussed during the four-week long VRG.

The month of September also involved a lot of planning for South Asia – the retreats and leadership fora to be held during the year in Nepal and other parts of South Asia are in process; along with the multiple campus events which are to be held in the major cities of Delhi, Pune and Mumbai.
