SAFREECON 2017 Holds in Cape Town, South Africa

On the 5th of August, ASFL in South Africa partnered with the Rational Standard – a South African based libertarian website to host the Southern Africa Freedom Convention (SAFreeCon) at the University of Cape Town (UCT), Cape Town. The conference had about 30 participants in attendance and featured some great speakers. ASFL Host Competition Events in Rwanda and Burundi

Through the project “eradicating the barriers to prosperity and opportunity” in the great lakes region, ASFL in Rwanda and Burundi organized competition events that brought together several students to compete for various prices while learning about how to become leaders of the ideas of freedom in their societies and how they can be actively involved in eradicating the barriers to prosperity and opportunity around them. The competition events were at the Free University of Kigali (Rwanda) on the 9th of August with 27 participants and at the Burundi National University on the 26th of August with 35 participants. Students learn new skills at Liberty Writers Workshop in Nigeria

Writing is key to the advancement of liberty. This is why ASFL in Nigeria organized a workshop for potential and existing writers on Thursday, August 17, 2017, at the Federal School of Statistics, Ibadan. The workshop was meant to introduce new students to writing for the cause of liberty and to improve the quality of writing of participants who already write. Speakers at the event include Tirzah Duren, Adeleke Abdullahi, Abdul Salam Mahamadu, Olumayowa Okediran, Ibrahim B. Anoba, and Sodiq Oyeleke who took time to teach the participants on their respective areas of expertise. The workshop convener, Nathaniel Luz in his closing remarks admonished the participants to put to practice all they had learnt as they are key to the advancement of a free Africa. ASFL 2017 Regional Conferences to hold in Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania

This year, ASFL will be holding Regional Conferences from October to November in Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania around the theme “creating wealth through free markets”. Application to attend these conferences was launched on the 22nd of August. Attendance is free of charge and some of the best advocates of liberty from across the continent will be speaking on several topics. Interested students can learn more and apply here.
